Childbirth pain is an unfortunate reality and one of the worst kinds of pain that women have to endure. Often, this kind of pain is very intense and it prolongs over a period of time and will even radiate from several different parts of the body. Childbirth pain is generally caused when the tissues in the body are stretched, especially vaginal tissues as too tissues of the cervix and also tissues in the parts of the body through which the baby must pass during delivery. Contractions Lead To Feeling Childbirth Pain However, it is not right to think that the uterus is unable to squeeze to allow the baby to exit it. The plain truth is that the uterus does contract and this in turn leads to the muscles of the woman’s cervix being pulled up in order to facilitate passage of the newborn. However, these very contractions also cause childbirth pain and in addition it is also possible to experience accompanying swelling and the pain too can last for several weeks post delivery. A woman’s pelvic area too has concentration of nerves that too will respond in a sharp manner whenever pressure is applied to it, especially when contractions [...]

One of the most natural things in the world is childbirth. People have been doing it for thousands and thousands of years, most of those without medical intervention. These days pregnancy and childbirth are big business, especially for hospitals who can count on a fairly steady stream of income from it since there are always babies being born. Due to concerns over liability and the fact that the hospital makes upwards of ten times as much from performing a caesarian section or C-section, these procedures are performed far too often which is not beneficial to either the mother or the child. If you don’t want a C-section forced on you by the hospital, natural childbirth options are available and should most definitely be taken into consideration.Having the power to decide how your baby is going to be born is powerful. A woman needs to know that she is in control concerning her child’s birth. One option is at the hospital.Do you know the hospital’s C-section percentage? This is something you can find in the hospital’s history. Back in 1970 the percentage of C-sections was around 5%. The percentage had tripled to over 15% by 1978. Today hospitals range from the [...]

Childbirth is also known as labor, birth which is the completion of human pregnancy period which results in the delivery of one or more babies from a woman womb. Three categories broadly describe the process of childbirth. Sometimes it is also achieved by caesarian section. Stages of Normal Human Birth First stage: contractions This stage of labor starts when the cervix is 3 cm enlarged. The oncoming of actual labor is specified when the cervix starts to increasingly dilate. Breach of the tissue layer, or a blood stained ‘appearance’ may or may not happen at around this stage. During self-effacement, the cervix gets integrated into the lower section of the uterus. This muscle contraction causes reducing of the upper section and dragging up of the lower section, in a gradual movement. This attracts the cervix up over the baby’s head. Full distension is attained when the cervix is the sizing of the baby’s head; about 10 cm dilation. The time period of childbirth changes widely, but active phase averages 8 hours for women giving birth to their first baby and 4 hours for those who have already given birth. Second stage: delivery Head is fully locked in the pelvis during this stage. [...]

One of the effects that is sad due to our modern day and time in medicine is labor and delivery are pretty much medical procedures. That may sound strange because most people consider delivery to be a medical event. But that is the big problem. It isn’t a medical event. It is an event that it is possible to keep it natural and private through alternate methods. Women should be made aware that there are alternatives. I would like to present one of those main alternatives from the perspective of a San Diego midwife. That main alternative is having a homebirth midwife to assist you in your delivery. This practice is known as midwifery and there are plenty of midwives San Diego. As cesareans and induction rates soar in hospitals, it has turned the joyous event of a delivery into an negative experience. That is one of the primary reasons for the surge in women asking for more natural deliveries through a certified or licensed midwife. Birth and the delivery shouldn’t necessarily include drugs, invasive procedures, private areas constantly being probled, etc. It can be done safely and effectively in a home environment through that homebirth method or even a waterbirth San Diego [...]
