Infertility: Natural Treatment Options

I normally delay seeing the doctor for as long as possible. It’s not that I don’t believe he (or she) is skilled at what he does, it’s just that I’m not keen about pumping chemicals into my body that don’t have to be there, like those antibiotics I seem to get every time I do end up going. I acknowledge that there’s a need for antibiotics, but I’m usually quite wary. Even with something like infertility, natural treatment is my first preference. Why go and pump yourself to the brim with tablets, which give you side effects so you take even more tablets, when the natural treatment may work just as well?

The natural treatments listed below are believed to work by boosting general health and decreasing stress and tension, which will contribute positively to your fertility, while others have more focused benefits. By now you’re probably wondering which natural treatments can alleviate infertility. Well, here goes:

- Acupuncture – The use of acupuncture in fertility treatment is fairly well documented. The acupuncturist will use super-fine needles to stimulate specific points. In trials where acupuncture was done before and after IVF procedures the reports seem relatively positive.

- Herbs – People misjudge the potency of herbs, so make sure that you consult someone who knows what’s going on.

- Homeopathy – Homeopathy can help both female and male infertility by stimulating the body to shape itself up.

- Pilates and Yoga – Just verify that your instructor knows something about exercise and yoga for infertility.

- Aromatherapy – We all know how crucial timing is, and apparently aromatherapy can make your cycle more predictable.

- Naturopathy – This incorporates a wide selection of therapies such as acupuncture, diet and the like.

- Sleep – Don’t lose lots of sleep! Getting adequate sleep is important for helping to regulate your menstrual cycle.

- The list continues!

It all looks wonderful, but just make certain that you go to a licensed practitioner – you don’t want some quack sticking needles where they don’t go. Inform your practitioner about your intentions to have a baby as this might affect your treatment. Your infertility clinic could be able to give you the number of someone experienced in the natural treatment of infertility.

You may be the sort of person who is somewhat suspicious about whether these therapies work or not, but despite those reservations I believe that there is no hurt in having a little tender loving care. Anything that brings your tension down will be beneficial for fertility, and you’ll feel more prepared to deal with whatever crosses your path.

So if you’re suffering from infertility, natural treatment options might be just the additional boost that you need. Some sympathetic care and attention will help you feel stacks better and healthy eating, regular exercising and sufficient rest never hurt anyone!
